The Affinity Credit Union Gold Choice Rewards MasterCard offers a range of travel benefits along with the Choice Rewards program. If you want to apply for this card, regardless of its $120 annual fee, read our step by step guide for information on the online application process.
Before applying online for an Affinity Credit Union Gold Choice Rewards MasterCard make sure you meet the following criteria of eligibility:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be a permanent resident of Canada
- Be a credit union member or visit a local credit union branch to become one
- Be open to provide information regarding your personal data, financial situation and employment status.
How to Apply
The application procedure for this card is very simple and requires the completion of a few easy steps:
Step 1: From the card’s promotional page (Affinity Credit Union website) press the ‘CUETS website’ link as shown in the picture below.
Step 2: In the new window press the ‘Apply Now’ button next to the description and name of the card.
Step 3: In the popup window which will open you need to confirm you are a member of the credit union by selecting the ‘yes’ option. If you are not a member you’ll be asked to visit a local credit union branch to be able apply. If you chose the ‘yes’ option, select also your credit union branch. Click on the ‘Continue’ button to begin your application.
Step 4: Scroll down the page and introduce in the appropriate fields the primary cardholder’s information including: first, middle and last name, home address, city, province, postal code, housing status, monthly payment, years at the current address, phone number and mobile phone number.
Step 5: Provide your personal information including your social insurance number (optional), date of birth, mother’s maiden name and email address (optional). Introduce also your employment information by selecting your employment status and choose whether you’d like to add an authorized user.
Step 6: You can decide whether you would like to make a balance transfer and/or add a Balance Protection Insurance by selecting the relative boxes. Finally press ‘Continue’ to review and submit your application.
Q: What does the Premium Travel health plan include?
The Premium Travel health plan includes the insurance during 31 day out of province. The insurance covers medical and dental emergency treatments up to 2 million dollars per insured person who is not older than 75 years.
Q: Can I apply for online banking if I am not the member of the Credit Card Union?
No, the application is only for the members and the owners of the Affinity Credit Union card. People who are not members of the credit card union are not allowed to apply online.
Q: What is a balance transfer?
Card owners can set up a balance transfer online or by calling the number on the back of their card. All you need to do is to provide the account number that you want to transfer the balance from and the amount you want to transfer. The amount of money that is transferred depends on your credit limit. As long as your new credit card does not receive the transfer, you will continue to make payments on your old account, and this can last even three weeks.
Q: How can I access my Affinity account statements online?
PDF versions of your statements are available online. You just need to click on Accounts, then choose Monthly Statements and see your statements. They can be downloaded, too.
