You can apply for the First Progress Platinum Select Mastercard Secured Credit Card online, by phone, or in person in one of the issuer’s locations. Why should you choose this card? Q: There are three different First Progress credit cards. Are the eligibility conditions different for each of them?

Since you are closing the account, the issuer will automatically credit your account for the amount of the security deposit in full when you close your account and a credit balance refund check will be a mailed to your address of record within 10 weeks.

Q: Is there a possibility of charging a minimum over my limit just in cases of emergency?

Unfortunately, there is not that kind of opportunity with First Progress Platinum Select Mastercard Secured Credit Card. Just as any other secured card, it allows you to spend up to the amount of your credit limit, which is the same as the amount of the security deposit. This helps you act responsibly and improve your credit score, so the best solution is to always leave on the account 30% of the limit, even though you are allowed to spend it all. If it happens that you have spent everything your future transactions may be denied. You can always increase your credit limit by adding to your security deposit.
