Goodyear tires were founded in 1898 by Frank Seiberling in Akron Ohio. He named the tires after the American Charles Goodyear who pioneered vulcanized rubber.
Now a household name in quality tires, it first became popular because Goodyear tires were easily detachable and required very little upkeep.
