In order to be eligible for an Affinity Credit Union Low Fee Gold Choice Rewards MasterCard you need to meet the following criteria:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be a permanent resident of Canada
- Be a credit union member or visit a local credit union branch to become one
- Be open to provide information regarding your personal data, financial situation and employment status.
How to Apply
Here are the steps to follow during your online application:
Step 1: Go to the CUETS cards’ homepage and after locating this specific card (since there are many cards described in this page make sure you choose the right card you want to apply for) and press the ‘Apply Now’ button next to the card’s name.
Step 2: In the popup window which will appear you need to confirm you are a member of the credit union by selecting the ‘yes’ option. Non-members will need to present personally to the bank for filling an application. If you are a member and have selected the ‘yes’ option, provide also your credit union branch name in the appropriate field. Press ‘Continue’ to begin your application.
Step 3: Introduce in the appropriate fields the primary cardholder’s information including: first, middle and last name, home address, city, province, postal code, housing status, monthly payment, years at the current address, phone number and mobile phone number.
Step 4: Enter also your personal information including your social insurance number (optional), date of birth, mother’s maiden name and email address (optional). Provide your employment information by selecting your employment status and add an authorized user if you need to.
Step 5: As a last step you can make a balance transfer and/or add a Balance Protection Insurance by selecting the relative boxes and providing the required information in the appropriate fields. Finally click on ‘Continue’ to review and submit your application.
Q: What do I need to have to be able to use Mobile Banking?
Firstly, you need to have an Affinity account which will be connected to Online Banking system and a mobile phone that can access the Internet. Once you go to the website, you will need to enroll onto the system in order to be able to use the services offered online.
Q: What are the route and transit numbers and where can I find them?
The route and transit numbers can be found on the bottom of your Affinity cheques. There are many numbers on it and each of them stands for something. The first 3 numbers are the cheque number and the 5 digits following it are your transit number. The next 3 digits are your route number. The rest of the numbers are your account number.
Q: What does Mobile Deposit stand for?
Mobile Deposit is a service that allows you to deposit paper checks electronically via your smart phone. You can take photos of your checks and send the images for deposit via Affinity's Mobile Banking Application.
Q: Is it necessary to have special software to read Online Documents?
The online documentation can be read using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Adobe Acrobat Reader is often installed din most computers and other devices, but if you do not have it, you can download it easily.
