Q: What is a rebate?
A rebate is a return of part of the original payment for some service by a seller to a buyer within a specified period. Rebate differs from discount which is given before the payment, while a rebate is given after the payment of full invoice amount. The most common one is mail-in rebate. The buyer receives a check for a particular amount, depending on the particular product, time, and often place of purchase. There are also some rebate programs which offer several payout options like a paper check, a prepaid card or even PayPal payout.
Q: What’s the difference between individual and joint application?
The difference exists, and it is necessary to perceive all the conditions before applying for the card. Individual accounts are better in terms that you are the only one responsible for the debt and the only user of the benefits and privileges offered by the card. When you apply jointly, your incomes are combined which strengthens your application. Thus, you will have more chances for loans or mortgages. On the other hand, a joint application requires that each party is responsible for paying the debt and the lower of the two credit scores is used in pricing the loan.
