Q: What is the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau?
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, or shortly CFPB, is an agency founded by the U.S. government, which was established as an independent agency, but that is being reviewed by the U.S. Court of Appeals. The purpose of the CFPB is to encourage justice and transparency for credit cards and other financial products and services. Its core function is to protect people who keep their money in banks, pay with their credit cards, and rely on loans to buy homes.
Q: Is it possible to apply for Amex credit card without SSN?
Yes, it is possible. It is expected that the online application will not allow you to finish the process since the SSN number is obligatory to be entered, but you can apply only over the phone. Bear in mind that Amex does not approve cards if a person has no credit history.
Q: I made my payment by card, but I have not received any points yet. What is happening?
The possible problem is that Amex is always slow when these operations are in question, and it might be necessary to wait for 2 statements. By clicking on “available points” you can check pending points. If they do not appear after some time, you should contact the customer service officer.
