Follow the easy steps below in order to login, make a payment, remember a forgotten password/username, and activate or register for a Platinum Credit Card from Capital One®. Screenshots of the websites can be seen below for guidance.

Step 1:

Go to https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/platinum/ and then click on the words ‘Sign In’ in the top right-hand corner.

Step 2:

You should be taken to this page below. Underneath the first header on the left called ‘Credit Cards’ click the blue button named ‘Sign In’ underneath the words ‘US Credit Cards’.

Step 3:

You should be taken to this page below. Fill in your details in the blocks underneath the words ‘User Name’ and ‘Password’ and then click the green button that reads ‘Login’.

Step 4:

You will be taken to your online profile. To make a payment if you already have a bank account to pay from, click ‘Make a One-Time Payment’ from the ‘Payments’ menu bar. Then select the credit card account you want to pay.

Enter in the amount to be paid and either today’s date or the future date for when you want the payment to be made. You can schedule up to three payments at a time. Make the payment.

Step 5:

Check on the ‘Transactions and Details’ page to see if your recent payment has been made.

Go to https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/platinum/ Then click on the words ‘Sign In’ in the top right-hand corner.

Step 2:

You should be taken to this page below. Underneath the first header on the left called ‘Credit Cards’ click the blue button named ‘Sign In’ underneath the words ‘US Credit Cards’.

Step 3:

You should be taken to this page below. If you have forgotten your User name, click on the blue highlighted words found underneath the green ‘Login’ button that read ‘Forgot User name’.

Step 4:

You should be taken to this page. Enter in your details: your Capital One bank account number or 16 digit card number in the first block and your SSN which is your social security number into the second block.

Step 5:

Click the green button that reads ‘Continue’.

Step 6:

If you have forgotten your password, click on the blue highlighted words found underneath the green ‘Login’ button that read ‘Forgot Password’.

Step 7:

You should be taken to the page below. Enter your details: your Username in the first block and your SSN which is your social security number or your Taxpayer ID number, into the second block.

Step 8:

Click the green button that reads ‘Continue’.

To open an account with Capital One for your Credit Card:

Step 1:

Go to https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/platinum/ and click on the words ‘Sign In’ which is in the top right-hand corner.

Step 2:

You should be taken to this page below.

Where you see the first heading on the left-hand side of the page called ‘US Credit Cards’ click the white button underneath with the words ‘Sign Up’.

Step 3:

You should be taken to this page below.

Enter in your details: your 16-digit card number, Security code, date of birth and social security or taxpayer ID number and then click the green button at the bottom of the page that reads ‘Continue’.

Q: Are there any conditions for using the Capital One abroad?

Capital One can be used abroad and there is no fee for using it for foreign currency transactions. What is even offered is the service which immediately converts the foreign price to your local currency, in order to get the idea of how much money you need to spend on that purchase. You can go out of the country and use your card without informing your Bank about that since the newly EMV chip technology allows secure transactions abroad without notifying the bank in advance.
