Does Lifelock work?

Hi, I have a question: some friends suggested I should subscribe to Lifelock to get identity theft protection for my bank account/credit card.

Anyone had previous experience with this? Does it really help? I’m not sure what to do, some people actually told me it’s quite useless, but I am also quite afraid of credit fraud, I hear so many things online, on TV and newspapers I have the feeling some protection is necessary…

Would be great if you could advise me on this. Thank you!

Yes, it’s definitely a great thing! It offers you a lot of protection. I use it for years and I never ever had any problems with credit fraud. Of course, I know people who never used it and still didn’t experience any identity theft etc. so who knows? But I am the type of person who prefers to be safe than sorry, so my advice is YES! Use this option, and you’ll be certain no problems will occur. Cheers!

I agree, I don’t think it’s very expensive, I think it would be useful to use this option! I never used it but now I’m seriously considering to give it a try, the situation recently with credit fraud is really worrisome…

Yes, but as far as I heard they claimed to be much more proficient and helpful than they actually were in many cases….Lots of advertisement, but when it came to specific cases, they often did not do very much.

In my opinion, there are better options out there (and free!) such as credit monitoring (which you can get for free from the Credit Karma website) or credit freeze in case some serious problem occurs.

I agree with Esther – there are better ways to protect yourself against credit fraud than Lifelock. If you will just take some time to monitor your credit etc. I don’t think you will have any problems. Once you see some strange thing occurring there, just contact your bank immediately and they’ll help you avoid future inconveniences.
