The USAA Cash Rewards American Express Credit Card is available only for individuals who are currently serving, or formerly served, in the U.S. military institutions, militaries’ family members, cadets or midshipmen. If you are interested in this card, make sure to read our guide before starting an online application.

In order to be eligible for the card you want to apply make sure you meet the following criteria:

Be 18 years of age or older.
Be currently serving, or formerly served, in the U.S. military institutions, a cadet or midshipmen or have a family member related to the U.S. military forces.
Have a valid Social Security number and a phone number.
Be open to provide details about you or your family member’s military service
Be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident of the U.S. If you are a non-U.S. citizens, you must posses a passport or permanent resident card.

Step 1: Navigate to the card’s homepage and press the ‘Get Started’ button.

Step 2: Select the ‘yes’ or ‘no’ option related to your USAA membership. Non-USAA members need to prove their affiliation to the military by selecting the options which apply to their case in order to get started. Press ‘Continue.’

Step 3: Fill in the boxes provided by introducing your contact information: full name, email address and phone number.

Step 4: Provide also your mailing address including: location, address line, ZIP code, city, state/territory, and country. Afterwards, press ‘Continue.’

Step 5: Continue by entering in the boxes provided your date of birth, gender, marital status, citizenship, and the security check code. Press ‘Continue’ to proceed.

Step 6: Select ‘yes’ or ‘no’ in reply to the question related to your USAA membership and fill in all the boxes with the specific information required. Then, click on the ‘Continue’ button.

Step 7: In the next window, you need to agree to the terms of the USAA Online Agreement by checking the relative box. Press ‘I Agree.’

Step 8: As a final step, you can establish your online ID and Password for future access to the USAA online platform. Fill in the boxes by choosing your Online ID, Password, and create your online access PIN. Click ‘Create Online Account’ to complete your application.

For the owners of the American Express Credit Card there is a benefit of both Roadside Assistance Hotline and Global Assist Hotline. The main difference is that Roadside Assistance Hotline offers help in case of some car accidents while the Global Assist Hotline includes services that are available 24/7 when you are away from your home, such as medical, legal, financial or other emergency assistance. All you need to do is to call the number on the back of your Card. Some of Roadside Assistance Hotline services are towing, changing a flat, or boosting a battery etc. All these services can be paid via your Card.

Q: What is the Premium Roadside Assistance?

The holders of the American Express Credit Cards have the benefit of Premium Roadside Assistance, meaning that in the case of emergency on the road, no matter what the problem is, you can just call the assistance to help you change a flat, get a tow up to 10 miles, among many other services. The assistance is paid up to four times a year. Bear in mind that there are some vehicle exclusions. You need to call 1-800-333-AMEX when you need and the representative will contact a third-party service and arrange for help to be sent your way.
